There's an interview with the Cheif Lizard at Mozilla.org which covers the vision behind the project and where they hope to go with it. I think the thing that I like about it is that the Gecko engine is being used in a lot of different places already, and that means cross platform development will be getting just a little bit easier. Chimera for the Mac, Galeon for Linux, Netscape for many platforms, all use Gecko, and makes the browser wars more than just a memory.
